Historic Watch Hill dates back to the 17th century when it was once occupied by the Niantic Indians. Watch Hill got its name when the area was used as a lookout point during the Revolutionary War.
Today the community is flush with mansions and luxury homes, yet affordable as a destination location. The Historic Watch Hill business district on Bay Street overlooks the Watch Hill Yacht Club and Little Narragansett Bay. Take a stroll through Watch Hill to browse in over fifty specialty shops, or stop at St Clair Annex for delicious homemade ice cream. Children love riding on the Flying Horse Carousel, the oldest carousel in the country. The sunsets on Bay Street are magnificent and highlight the gracious yachts that fill the harbor.
